Magpies given green light to keep spending
The Journal
|July 10, 2025
NEWCASTLE United are set to unveil Anthony Elanga as the club's first big signing since 2023 but the arrival of the £55m Nottingham Forest star is merely the start of their summer business.
Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe wants to add at least two more senior signings to the ranks as he looks to equip the Magpies for a season in the Champions League. Howe is aiming to bring in James Trafford from Burnley and a centre-back as senior additions, while younger forwards are being considered in the aftermath of Callum Wilson's exit. Atalanta's Giorgio Scalvini remains a top target with Newcastle working tirelessly to build up data on the Italy international in the past few windows. Newcastle supremo Yasir Al-Rumayyan is being updated daily on events back on Tyneside, and PIF's plans remain as ambitious as ever, according to insiders.

HEALTHY START
January is the right time for a reset. Nothing extreme, just food to help you feel good. Think fresh flavours, colourful plates and meals as nourishing as they are comforting. Soothing soups, vibrant salads and a spicy curry are on my menu plus, of course, the odd selection box chocolate which needs eating up!
