VISITORS to the North East coast have been issued with a warning over parking as photos circulating on social media show vehicles left on double yellow lines.

Lifesavers say parked cars blocking their route

As Cullercoats RNLI reports being on course to have their "busiest year in living memory" in 2025, the team is asking visitors to be mindful of where they park.

Sharing a photo of vehicles parked on the access ramp down to the beach at Cullercoats Bay, the crew and volunteers of Cullercoats RNLI reminded the public that a clear route is required for crew to get to the lifeboat station, and for emergency vehicles to support their life saving work when they return to the bay.
