UNDER-21S IN LIMBO WITH NO COACH AND NO GAME FOR TWO WEEKS
INTERIM manager Robbie Stockdale has been heartened by Newcastle United Under-21s response to a difficult week - and stopped short of confirming his interest in taking the role on a permanent basis.
A poor run of form and results was extended by a late Premier League 2 defeat against Middlesbrough, but there was little indication former head coach Adam Lawrence was considering his future in the aftermath.
However, the former Manchester United academy coach stepped down less than 48 hours later in a move that allowed Stockdale to take up an interim role for the second time this season.
