Insurer's fishing line link-up pays dividends

A PARTNERSHIP between North East-based marine insurer Sunderland Marine and the Anglers National Line Recycling Scheme (ANLRS) has recovered more than 125,000m of fishing line from the region's coastline.
-
The lines collected are enough to reach from the northern source of the Tyne in the Cheviot Hills to Tynemouth.
It comes as the scheme has been running since late 2022, providing a safe, environmentally friendly alternative to conventional fishing line disposal methods with bins available for anglers and members of the public to use on the shoreline.
