Former Magpies youngster makes Dunston loan move
The Journal
|August 01, 2025
DUNSTON have completed a season-long loan deal for former Newcastle United academy striker Josh Donaldson - who marked his signing from Hartlepool United with a goal during a preseason friendly with Darlington.
Donaldson, whose contract at St James’ Park expired this summer, had been on trial with Pools under new boss Simon Grayson where the 19-year-old impressed enough in games against Redcar Athletic and Rangers to convince the National League club to hand him a permanent deal at Victoria Park.
Having completed his move to Pools, Donaldson was then loaned out to the Northern Premier League East Division side and he made an instant impact when opening the scoring in Tuesday's 4-1 defeat to Darlington.
