Engineering consultancy hails revenues increase

NEWCASTLE engineering consultancy marking 50 years in business has toasted rising revenues and profits as it seeks out new future opportunities around the world.

Cundall has more than 1,200 staff in 29 offices around the world including eight in the UK and international bases in Hong Kong, Adelaide, Dubai, Singapore and Sydney.
The Tyneside-founded firm has been involved in landmark projects including facilities for the 2012 London Olympics and the retrofitting of the famous Palm House at Kew Gardens in London, as well as local schemes including Eldon Square, Pilgrim’s Quarter and the Theatre Royal.
As it marks its half-century, the company has published accounts for the year ended June 30 2025, showing turnover lifted from £105.56m to £112.9m, while operating profits rose from £12.44m to £13m. The year also saw 100 new employees join the business, with the average number of employees rising from 1,172 to 1,272.
Profit for the financial year available for discretionary division among members was £10.9m, down from £11.5m.
Within the accounts, the board of directors said it performed well against a challenging backdrop.
