Driver crashed into another vehicle

A DRIVER fled the scene after their car hit another vehicle before colliding with a set of traffic lights in Ashington on Tuesday evening.

The incident took place in the Hawthorn Road area of the Northumberland town.
Police said a report of a two-vehicle crash was received just before 6.30pm. Northumbria Police confirmed it was reported that a driver and passenger had fled the scene and that emergency services attended.
