Dickman axed as Mariners change course

ELLIOTT Dickman has been "relieved of his duties" as South Shields manager just weeks after the end of an underwhelming season for the National League North club.
The former Newcastle United and Sunderland academy coach was initially appointed on an interim basis at the 1st Cloud Arena in December 2023 after the departure of Black Cats legend Julio Arca.
After overseeing some impressive wins against the likes of Hereford, Scunthorpe United, Chorley and Spennymoor Town, the Mariners narrowly missed out on a play-off place as a defeat at Tamworth in their penultimate game proved fatal for their top seven hopes.
