CONTROVERSIAL plans for 270 new homes will be decided by councillors this week.

Taylor Wimpey North East’s bid for the houses in Kibblesworth, which involves the demolitions of West Farm, will be heard by Gateshead Council’s planning committee on Wednesday.
Council officers have recommended the proposals are approved, with a report stating there is “clear need to deliver the proposed residential development”.
