Closer EU ties now necessary

NOTWITHSTANDING the political stance of leading protagonists in the media circus leading up to the vote, the Brexit referendum was a binary choice offered to the electorate as a free vote.

If that principle of free choice is to be maintained, electors today have a right to express their independent views about the success or otherwise of the UK leaving the EU - without undue ‘party line’ pressure.

A recent opinion poll as reported by YouGov indicates that 56% of electors ‘think it was wrong for Britain to vote to leave the EU; whilst ‘only 31% continue to say this was the right decision’
