Carabao Cup means a lot for Shearer

Shearer would be happy to see Newcastle United finish in the bottom half of the table as long as they retained the Carabao Cup this season.The Magpies ended a 70-year domestic trophy drought when they beat Liverpool 2-1 in last season's final at Wembley.
Fittingly it was local hero Dan Burn who sent his side on the way to a memorable victory as he thumped home a header in the 45th minute to reward Newcastle's dominant first-half display.
Alexander Isak then scored a second at the start of the second-half before Federico Chiesa netted a late consolation.
