Annexe opens to meet demand for cancer care

Maggie's Centre, in the grounds of the Freeman Hospital, officially opened the new building on Friday afternoon.

Guests included North East patron Dame Margaret Barbour and Newcastle Fundraising Board Chair Lorna Moran, who has been at the forefront of fundraising for the centre, which opened in 2013. Lily Jencks, daughter of the charity’s founder Maggie Keswick Jencks, also attended.

The annexe was designed by architects Cullinan Studio, who designed the original building, and has a garden created by landscaper Sarah Price.
