£55m man Elanga jets in for medical

ANTHONY Elanga has arrived on Tyneside to put the finishing touches to his £55million transfer from Nottingham Forest to Newcastle United.

The Swede flew into Newcastle Airport from Portugal yesterday afternoon after the two clubs agreed terms on a deal that will make the winger the first signing of the summer.

Newcastle will pay Forest up to £55m including add-ons to land the services of the ex-Manchester United man.

Elanga, pictured right, is understood to have already agreed personal terms with the club.

The forward arrived at Newcastle's Benton training ground yesterday evening, having dashed from the airport where he had landed on a private jet.
