Underworld figure's escape bid fails

Thilina Sampath, also known as 'Walas Kata', a close aide of notorious underworld leader Manudinu Padmasiri Perera alias Kehelbaddara Padme, suffered serious injuries when he tried to escape by jumping from the third floor of the Peliyagoda Crimes Division building.
He was rushed to Colombo National Hospital on 09 August.
