Yet the long strip of fabric worn around the neck did not begin in boardrooms or on fashion runways. Its beginnings can be traced back to practical and decorative neckwear worn centuries ago. The journey from simple cloth to a refined fashion staple was gradual, shaped by cultural exchange, changing social norms and evolving tastes.
