India fortifies strategic Siliguri Corridor with three new military bases

The Siliguri Corridor has great strategic importance in West Bengal, with convenient access to three international borders: Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.

Three new military installations are rising in this critical region, signalling a fundamental shift in New Delhi's strategic posture.

The Lachit Borphukan Military Station near Dhubri, alongside forward bases at Kishanganj in Bihar and Chopra in West Bengal, represent more than defensive garrisons. They are strategic nodes equipped with rapid deployment forces, intelligence units, and Para Special Forces, designed to ensure the corridor can never be compromised.
