Royal family gather to watch Trooping the Colour flypast

Thousands gathered in central London yesterday as the King's official birthday was marked with a display of military pomp and pageantry.
King Charles was seen wearing a black armband in tribute to those killed in the Air India plane crash as the Trooping the Colour ceremony, staged in his honour, began.
But celebrations ended with the royal family gathering on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the traditional RAF flypast.
The King and Queen stood alongside the Prince and Princess of Wales, their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
Spectators on The Mall cheered as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team – the Red Arrows – flew overhead, releasing colourful trails of red, white, and blue smoke.
