FLAT PLAN FOR VICTORIAN BUILDING

- By JULIA BREENS Local Democracy Reporter

THE fate of a Victorian factory with a tree growing through its roof and the latest on huge new housing estates are among planning applications for Hinckley waiting to be decided by officials.

The town has seen significant growth in recent years, with a major 850-home development to the north of the town off the A47/Normandy Way approved in 2018.

The latest phase of the massive scheme is currently in the planning stages, with the full details of 127 of the homes yet to be decided on by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council (HBBC). Various stages have been approved since the development was given the go ahead seven years ago.

The estate, on land north of the Triumph motorcycle factory, has been split into several chunks which are being built by different developers.

For phase seven, Bloor Homes is promising houses inspired by the “architecture of the Georgian and Victorian periods”
