Southpaw did back in 2004, as Ursu deserves just as much celebration.

While 22 years have passed since Dann won his title, that is a lot less than the 81 years the city had to wait for a British champion until 2004.

Make no mistake, it is a rare feat indeed - and one that we cannot let go uncelebrated.

Ursu has now been signed by Frank Warren's Queensberry stable - alongside some of the biggest names in the sport - and there is talk he could make a title defence on home turf in Plymouth. He deserves it.
