Teachers raise money for charity

LIPSON Co-operative Academy staff turned heads this term as they swapped blazers for bright orange underpants worn over their football shorts in a lively charity match aimed at raising awareness of testicular cancer.
In front of a cheering crowd of several hundred students, two teacher teams - Brook’s Brawlers and Boyes’ Beasts - faced off on the school’s newly installed 3G pitch. The eye-catching orange pants were a nod to testicular cancer charity It’s in the Bag, whose bold messaging aims to encourage regular self-checks.
After a goal-laden contest filled with energy and good humour, Brook’s Brawlers - captained by headteacher Martin Brook - clinched a 6-4 victory over the side led by deputy head Paul Boyes.
