Peninsula to get £4m upgrade to lure foodies
The Herald
|November 20, 2024
PLYMOUTH'S Mount Batten Peninsula is set to undergo a £4m transformation which will make it an attraction for food-lovers.
The area will have a new cafe, with a new menu and outdoor seating, among upgrades being made to the watersports centre.
The idea is to ensure the Mount Batten Centre and its surrounding area become an accessible gateway to Plymouth Sound National Marine Park. The watersports and activities centre will undergo a series of enhancements to improve access to the park.
It is the next step in a £10m waterfront regeneration plan to improve access via key gateways to Plymouth Sound National Marine Park. Work has restarted at Tinside Lido to create spaces for events and install a coffee pod.
At Mount Batten Centre, the reception area will be opened up to provide a welcoming space with key information about the centre, the peninsula and National Marine Park.
