New plans put forward for Derriford's upgrade

PLANS which will help with the major redevelopment of Derriford Hospital have been put forward this week.

In January 2025, it was confirmed that the new Emergency Care Building at Derriford Hospital could proceed at pace.

The new state-of-the-art facility will replace the Trust's current Emergency Department, which is not fit for purpose, by creating space to care in a modern healthcare environment that the community has long required.

But plans submitted this week to Plymouth City Council say that such significant projects inevitably have knock on implications elsewhere on the hospital campus.
