Hourihan welcomes match as yardstick to where Argyle are

Ok, it would require a six goal win over fourth placed Real Bedford, as well as the top two in AFC Bournemouth and Watford to draw with each tomorrow, but the fact it is even a possibility shows how far the Greens have come this season.

Back in April, the Pilgrims had to win on the final day of the season to avoid a possible relegation down to the fourth tier, which they did with a 2-0 win at Gwalia United. Having only won six games at all last season, the seven wins from 11 they have picked up in 2025/26 surpasses that, and the total points total with only half the season played.

Marie Hourihan's side are very much in the promotion shakeup this season, and with the top four all playing each other, it will be a very pivotal pre-Christmas round of fixtures.
