Hardie is refusing to give up without a fight

STRIKER Ryan Hardie has promised to do everything he can to help Plymouth Argyle win their fight for Championship survival.

Hardie is refusing to give up without a fight

The Pilgrims are bottom of the table, five points from a position of safety with six more matches to play this season, but they did beat Norwich City 2-1 at Home Park on Saturday, when Hardie grabbed both of their goals.

The 28-year-old has now netted seven times in his eight Championship games, either side of an enforced absence due to a back injury, and if Argyle are to stay up they will need him to continue in the same sort of form.

Next up for the Pilgrims is an away game against Swansea City tomorrow night before they host second-placed Sheffield United at Home Park on Saturday (12.30pm).

Hardie's double against Norwich took his total this term to 10 in all competitions, and with 72 goals for Argyle overall since first signing for them in January 2020 he is 14th in the club's all-time standings, just two behind Mike Bickle and Jack Cock.

Hardie said: "It's the first weekend we have come in with a win and the other results went our way. It's a massive step in the right direction but there is no use in winning one game now, we have got to win back-to-back, and probably back-to-back-to-back.
