ETHICAL SHOP HAS OPENED ON TORPOINT FORE STREET

Creating beautiful things from washed-up waste

A CREATIVE and ethical new shop has opened in Torpoint, which uses washed-up waste to create beautiful things. Forever Blooms Metal Petals has moved into a former newsagent on Fore Street, which was empty for about a year.

Chris Beardsmore, 54, who lives in Millbrook, started Forever Blooms Metal Petals as an 'experiment! Chris wanted to see if he could make a flower from aluminium from gathered cans washed up on local beaches. He felt it was a 'worthy way of cleaning up and maybe creating something?

After several challenges at the beginning, Chris came up with the right design and his creations became a huge success. Now, five years on, Forever Blooms Metal Petals has a website, 11,000 followers on Facebook and since May, a shop.
