City ranks in top 10 for retirement suitability

PLYMOUTH has been named in the top 10 UK cities to retire to.

The new study, conducted by the independent retirement living provider Retirement Villages, has ranked all of Britain’s towns and cities against strict criteria, to reveal the best places for over-65s to live and settle in their retirement stage of life.

It can be tough deciding where to settle down and enjoy your retirement, but this study hopes to help make this choice easier for people by looking at important factors that will bring over65s a better quality of life. The study has assessed UK locations against five important lifestyle factors that are crucial to retirees:

■ Total percentage of local residents who are aged 65-plus, to boost socialising opportunities;
