A PLYMOUTH bakery has been named as one of the nation's best by The Great British Food Awards, who have highlighted their "must-visit spots for sourdough, pastries and showstopping bakes".
Jacka Bakery on the Barbican, which holds the distinction of being Britain's oldest bakery, has made it to this Great British Food Awards roundup of the UK's top six bakeries, with one pastry hailed as being "the best in the UK".
The location where this family-run establishment operates has been recognised as a bakery site since the early 1600s.
The family business is run by Sue Laughton, Paul Laughton, head baker Owen Laughton, and bakery and marketing manager, Carly Laughton.
