Senators split on party lines after security briefing on Iran

Republican and Democratic senators have offered starkly different interpretations of the US attack on Iran's nuclear sites after a behind-closed-doors intelligence briefing.
The session with national security officials had been scheduled for Tuesday but was delayed, drawing complaints that the White House was stonewalling Congress.
Even as senators were finally being briefed on Thursday, Donald Trump reignited the row by accusing Democrats of leaking a draft Pentagon report that suggested last weekend's strikes had set back Iran's nuclear programme only by months.
This contradicted the US president's insistence that three sites had been "obliterated". He wrote: "The Democrats are the ones who leaked the information on the PERFECT FLIGHT to the Nuclear Sites in Iran. They should be prosecuted!"
