Boyband diplomacy: Mexico's leader in plea for more BTS gigs

The Guardian

Huge demand to see the K-pop septet BTS has led Mexico’s president to formally ask her South Korean counterpart for help in arranging more concerts in Mexico.

- Reuters

“Everyone wants to go,” Claudia Sheinbaum said at her daily press conference on Monday, adding that she had sent a diplomatic letter to South Korea’s Lee Jae Myung seeking more concerts.

The chart-topping boyband is set to embark on a global tour in April, shortly after they release Arirang, their first album in three years. The band has been on hiatus since 2022 while its members undertook South Korea’s mandatory military service.
