Artist of 'the worst' Trump portrait says career is at risk

Sarah A Boardman's painting of the US president hung for six years in the Colorado state capitol in Denver.

Last month, Trump claimed on his Truth Social platform that his likeness had been "purposefully distorted". He said Boardman's portrait of the former US president Barack Obama, which was part of the same commission, was "wonderful", but "the one on me is truly the worst". The portrait has since been removed.

In her first comment since the incident, the British-born artist said Trump's remarks meant her "intentions, integrity and abilities were, in my opinion, called into question".
