Turner ready to toast maiden Tigers victory

NEW Middlesbrough team manager Brian Turner says that he might celebrate with some thing more than a glass of orange juice if his young Tigers side should provide a first victory in charge when they face the renamed 'Steelers' at the ECCO Arena tomorrow afternoon (3pm).

Turner took over Teesside’s National Development League side when fellow former rider Stuart Swales stepped down during the winter.

So far he has overseen three close defeats - all away from home - but his riders now have the advantage of track knowledge at the South Tees Motorsports Park circuit.

The Tigers, who have lost the services of Jake Mulford and Ben Trigger while inheriting current Redcar reserves Tom Spencer and Ace Pijper, were beaten at Edinburgh, Scunthorpe and Oxford but nowhere was the margin greater than six points.

Jamie Halder remains sidelined due to fractured ribs he received when crashing in Scotland.
