Trump's fossil fuel fixation

WE should be very cautious about taking advice on energy policy from Trump.

Trump promised in his election campaign to lower the cost of living and to reduce energy bills by 50%, but US energy bills are going up faster than inflation and in some states they are up by 10%, 20%.

Trump is fixated on fossil fuels, but the hard economic truth is that renewables in the US are cheaper than fossil fuel generation, and energy demand is increasing.

They need to build more capacity of every kind, but Trump is at war with renewable energy. In 2025 he forced coal plants to stay open, while his very personal vindictive campaign against “windmills” has blocked offshore wind that would have added capacity all along the Atlantic coast.

Putting ideology above hard economic facts is expensive.
