Priority for new boss, Viveash calls telling, and local lads lead way

NOT that it wasn’t already an attractive job, but Middlesbrough's 2-1 victory over Birmingham City made the post at the Riverside that is to be vacated by Rob Edwards all the more appealing.
Not only did Boro’s victory courtesy of goals from Dael Fry and Hayden Hackney send them back to second in the league, it encapsulated the spirit and togetherness within the squad that the next manager will inherit.
Not only will he arrive with the team in a great position a third of the way through the season, he has solid foundations to build on.
There can be little doubt that, while improvements are needed, there is a great squad - full of character but also quality - from which to potentially build something quite special this season.
Boro’s search for Edwards’ successor begins right away. His decision leaves a sour taste but it does not mean history should be rewritten.
The soon-to-be Wolves boss deserves credit for shaping Boro to the position they're in right now. That said, if Boro get this appointment right, he might not be the biggest miss in the world.
The new boss’ immediate priority
Saturday doesn’t really feel like a day where too much analysis around the game or the performance is necessary.
This was about the resilience and spirit that both the players and the supporters showed in adversity. It wasn't just Edwards' exit either. Yet again, questionable officiating and defensive injuries made this an even tougher afternoon for Boro.
