One of our own - and a joy to watch

ONE of the delights of the season so far, especially for Teessiders, is the form of goalkeeper Sol Brynn.

The 25-year-old has been pretty solid behind the last line of defence and more or less made the position his own.

It's always great to see one of our own coming in and establishing themselves without Boro heaving to delve into the transfer market again.

However, Brynn and Hayden Hackney were the only two Teessiders to start the game against Derby, which proves how hard it is for homegrown academy lads to break through.

The problem is that head coaches usually want ready-made, proven players to come into the side, which means looking elsewhere.
