Mogga parts ways with the Baggies

WEST Brom have sacked Middlesbrough legend Tony Mowbray after defeat to Derby County all but ended the Baggies’ faint play off hopes.

Mowbray was appointed boss at West Brom for the second time earlier in the year after Carlos Corberan left the club to takeover at Valencia.

Despite signing a two-and-a-half-year deal at the Hawthorns, Mowbray was sacked after three months, with long-time assistant Mark Venus also leaving.

The decision comes after five defeats in six games left West Brom now mathematically unable to make top six.

A club statement read: “The club would like to place on record its thanks to Tony and Mark for their efforts - but has made the decision to part company following a series of poor results.”
