Man kicked pal in head as he lay on the ground

TWO best friends on a night out in Middlesbrough "were drinking to excess and didn't want the fun to end', a court has heard.
Kyle Clark was out celebrating the removal of his electronic tag which was fitted as part of his licence conditions, on his release from prison.
The 22-year-old was sentenced to 26 months in August 2024, after he ploughed into two people in his car on Middlesbrough's Borough Road.
Clark was drunk behind the wheel and his female victim was left pinned between his car and a wall.
She suffered a fractured pelvis and dislocated hips and underwent emergency surgery. Clark, who worked full-time as a scaffolder before being sent to prison, fled the scene.
On Tuesday, Teesside Crown Court heard that Clark was out with his best pal and other friends on Friday, June 27. Anthony Pettengell, prosecuting, said that the next morning, the pals went to the Swatters Carr pub.
"The next thing [the victim] could recall was waking up in James Cook Hospital,"
Mr Pettengell told the court, "the defendant was seen crying and full of remorse. He said they'd had a fight."
