TIMOTHY SPALL TALKS TO ELLA WALKER ABOUT STARRING IN NEW BBC COMEDY-MURDER MYSTERY SERIES DEATH VALLEY
-
Timothy says he’s similarly not suited to the life of an investigator. “Shocking, quite shocking,” he yelps when asked what he thought his chances of success would be. “I couldn't interrogate [anyone]. I'd let them go. If anyone looked a bit sad, I couldn't bear it!”
“They are two slightly peculiar people that are also grieving something,” adds Gwyneth, who's had roles in Misfits and, most recently, BBC miniseries Lost Boys and Fairies.
“They're both really stubborn and childish and they can be pedantic and tunnel-minded, but their friendship is what brings them out of being quite lonely people. Both of them are looking for somebody to reach out to and are at a loss.”
The actors themselves got on “straight away”. Timothy says there was a mood of “we're in it together” on set, alongside an “esprit de corps” and “a real sense of 'We're doing something new, let's have a go”.
"There was nobody throwing their weight around about it, it was a really nice shared thing.”
