Hull defender set to make Rovers switch

The Gazette

July 18, 2025

MIDDLESBROUGH are in talks with Hull City and Blackburn Rovers as they try to reach agreements to sign defensive duo Alfie Jones and Callum Brittain.

However, another defender is set to cross between the two clubs - with Hull's defensive option set to be depleted. Hull and Blackburn are said to be in advanced talks over the transfer of centre-back Sean McLoughlin.

Hull's precarious situation leaves them needing to sell, and as well as being willing to accept £2m for Boro target Jones, they appear close to reaching an agreement on McLoughlin.
