Edwards gets his first chance to assess squad

NEW Middlesbrough boss Rob Edwards is working with a squad with a largely clean bill of health as the assesses the situation at the club during their preseason training camp in the Algarve.

Edwards is still learning about the strengths of his players ahead of Boro’s first forays into the transfer window this summer, but will have been encouraged that the injury issues that plagued Michael Carrick’s men last season have largely cleared up.

He has indicated that while he already has some ideas over where work needs to be done in the transfer market, everyone at the club will have their chance to impress over the coming weeks.
