'Dead rubber but we'll give it all', vow Bears

REDCAR Bears have a 'free hit' tonight when they welcome Workington to the ECCO Arena (7.30pm start) as they have already qualified to extend their season into the playoffs that will decide the 2025 league champions.

It is the final scheduled fixture for the Bears before they commence the 'business part' of the campaign but manager Gavin Parr stresses they won't be taking their foot of the gas.

He said: “It’s what you might call a dead rubber as there are a lot more important matches in the next ten days with the playoffs, the Knock Out Cup and BSN Series semifinals.

“The most important part of the match is making sure that the five Bears on show get through in a good frame of mind and with no injuries.
