Changes to waste collection services were deemed responsible for a lot of the complaints
THE number of complaints to Middlesbrough Council has significantly dropped, according to latest figures.
The authority received a total of 1,378 complaints in 2024/25, down from 1,889 in 2023/24.
The news was presented to the council's audit committee on Thursday, September 25, where councillors learnt that year-on-year, there had been a noticeable reduction in the total number of complaints.
However, there was an increase in the percentage of complaints that were upheld after initial investigation, rising from 55.3% (2023/2024) to 63.4% (2024/2025).
The council received a total of 1,378 complaints in 2024/25, down from 1,889 in 2023/24.
The most recent figure is however higher than the totals for 2021/22 and 2022/23, which saw 1,060 and 1,275 complaints, respectively.
