Cleaning firm's £45k bill after worker scarred

EMPLOYEE SUFFERED CHEMICAL BURNS
A CLEANING firm has been ordered to pay almost £45,000 after a worker suffered severe permanent scarring from chemical burns while working at a Middlesbrough McDonald's restaurant.
In the early hours of September 4, 2019, a 50-year-old employee for a cleaning firm was working an overnight shift cleaning extraction systems at the McDonald's branch in Coulby Newham.
He knelt in spilled chemical cleaning solution and suffered serious burns which later required skin grafts.
He was left with permanent scarring.
