ROB Edwards believes Darragh Lenihan can be a 'huge plus' for Middlesbrough next season, with the Boro head coach planning to manage the defender carefully on his return to action.
Lenihan is back in action this summer, 12 months since he last returned from injury only to break down again and not play a single minute of last season.
The Irish centre-back has not played a competitive game since September 2023.
But after playing 45 minutes in Portugal, Lenihan then impressed as he completed another 45 minutes in Saturday's draw with Mansfield. As part of a back three, Boro were 3-0 up when Lenihan came off, and the centre-back showed no signs of rust after so long out of action.
