Talk on 1921 IRA ambush killing of police officer

A special talk will recount the story of a police officer killed by the IRA.

Inspector Robert Johnstone is buried in Balmaghie Kirkyard, having been murdered on the streets of Glasgow in May 1921.
And Glasgow Police Museum curator, Alastair Dinsmore MBE, will appear at the kirk on May 4-the anniversary of the tragic incident-to talk about the events that unfolded.
IRA guerrilla fighter Frank Carty had been hiding in Glasgow after escaping from a jail in Londonderry.
