If there is one good thing that the arrest of former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte (FPRRD) has brought, it is the fact that international community has witnessed how well-loved the former president is by Filipinos. Many came to The Netherlands to express their support for him. In many parts of the world, Filipinos are standing up. Their call is clear: Bring FPRRD home.
The movement is getting bigger, stronger, and fiercer. There are many reasons why Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) love FPRRD. The list is long.
One reason is the end of the dreaded “tanim bala” (planting a bullet) modus operandi in our very own airports. As reported, security personnel at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport had been planting bullets in the luggage of travelers, many of them are OFWs, in order to extort money from. Our beloved Filipinos’ reputation with the international community suffered because this anomaly made international news.
