USPF denies evicting athletes from dorms

The University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) is facing scrutiny after reports circulated online claiming that student-athletes were allegedly evicted from campus dormitories in the aftermath of the October 2025 Cebu earthquake and Typhoon Tino.

The administration, for their part, has defended the move as a precautionary measure for safety, while athletes, student leaders, and organizations have raised concerns about communication lapses, displacement, and the welfare of those who represent the school in sports competitions.

In its official statement, USPF strongly rejected the claims circulating online.

"We appeal to the public not to be misled by false and irresponsible online posts. We call for responsible engagement and discernment when encountering unverified information," the USPF statement reads.

The University added that the posts were "malicious, false, and grossly misleading," and that its legal team is reviewing possible actions against those responsible.
