Top tech experts to gather in Cebu for GOAB 2025

Close to 400 technology experts, venture capitalists, and startup founders are set to gather in Cebu from October 1 to 3 for the 8th edition of Geeks on a Beach (GOAB), underscoring the Philippines' growing ambition to strengthen its foothold in the regional innovation economy.

The three-day event will take place at Jpark Island Resort and Water Park, bringing together investors, entrepreneurs, government agencies, and global thought leaders in technology and design.

GOAB, first launched in 2013, has become a bellwether for the country's startup movement, providing a platform where ideas meet capital and where policy meets innovation.

This year's conference comes amid heightened interest in artificial intelligence, sustainability, and the resilience of emerging economies in the face of geopolitical and technological shifts.

"This is not only about what tech and design can deliver, but what communities can build for the future of humanity," said Dave Overton, Cebu-based co-founding organizer of GOAB and chief executive of Symph, framing the 2025 edition around resilience and innovation.

The program will feature masterclasses, workshops, and a main conference showcasing startup success stories, emerging technologies, and investment opportunities.
