Tom to Hontiveros: Explain procurement of 16 TV sets

Cebu City Vice Mayor Tomas Osmeña is calling on former vice mayor Donaldo Hontiveros to explain the procurement of 16 brand-new television sets, allegedly remnants from purchases made for the Palarong Pambansa.

These units were stored in a basement and were soaked during the most recent flooding.
Osmeña described the purchase of the television sets as a lapse in judgment, stressing that it could be grounds for graft.
"Why they buy so many TV sets and they do not know what they are going to do it kay humana ang kickback," said Osmeña.
According to him, it was unjustifiable that these purchases were made and then stored in an area prone to flooding. In line with this, Osmeña is calling on Hontiveros—who also served as Chairman of the Committee on Sports—to explain the said procurements.
"Why did you buy the TV sets, why did you buy these all stupid things that we really don't need..P120 million for TV screen in Palaro," said Osmeña.
