Tisa flood-control project unfinished even after 5 years

A P60-million flood mitigation project in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City, which has remained unfinished even after five years, is the most recent project that Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival has flagged.

Yesterday morning, Archival visited the flood control project, particularly a 120-meter drainage system, which was started five years ago and is estimated to have cost around P60 million.

In his conversation with the engineer, Archival said there are at least 16 sitios around the area where water flows down to the street where the drainage system is being constructed, which oftentimes leads to floods.

"Taga liog (water level), the moment nga mo-ulan, dako kaayo ni nga sakripisyo sa atong mga tawo diri sa lugar diri sa Tisa," said Archival.
