The Regional Nutrition Committee (RNC) and the National Nutrition Council (NNC) in Central Visayas honored 19 outstanding awardees during this year's Grand Nutrition Awards, celebrating best practices in scaling up local nutrition programs and improving the nutritional status of children.

In a press conference held prior to the awarding ceremony, Dr. Parolita Mission, NNC-7 Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, emphasized that the awards aim to recognize the efforts of local government units (LGUs) and community implementers in combating malnutrition, particularly among preschool-aged children.

Cheche De la Victoria, chair of the RNC Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team and representative from the Department of Agriculture, explained that the evaluation was based on LGU performance in 2024. Key indicators included the height and weight measurements of young children, among other metrics.
